Pure filth

I’m a wee bit disturbed by the amount of times I am the number 1 or 2 hit for a really filthy query. Obviously I’m not going to list them here because that will just attract even more attention!

I consider myself to be quite decent in my output - ok, some posts are less than family-friendly, there is a fair amount of sexual content and a few swear words - but I wouldn’t define myself as a full-on sex blog, and I wouldn’t say I had a penchant for naughty words. I’ve actually had to take some posts down and make them private, because I simply don’t want to be visited by people who’d input those sort of queries!

Does anyone else have this trouble?

  3. It’s amazing what people are searching for out there.
I had a day with over 1000 hits all for people looking for ‘cheerleaders having their bottoms paddled.’ all I can think it was is I did a post about Miss M paddling in her potty.

I wouldn’t worry too much sweetie.
I’ve never thought your blog is too much or overtly sexual.
We can’t help what some of our readers are thinking, and chances are they won’t hang around too long.
Carry on as you are and don’t worry.

  4. Ha, I’d never ever discuss my hit figures, far too personal!
Nah, I’m not worried really, I just think it’s funny ;)
You do know you’ve now passed the cheerleader spankers on to me, don’t you?

  5. I would not consider your site overtly sexual, far from it. Go on tell us, what is the filthy query..

ps: two anti-spam measures, now that is what I call site protection

  7. One day I happened to write ‘testicular torture’ - I was referring to a pair of rather tight trunks. There are clearly a lot of people out there researching this topic! Eek.
If you happen to be passing my way, I have a BEAUTIFUL award waiting for you!

  8. How else do you think we all found your blog?

    Comment by John — August 30, 2007 @ 3:59 pm

  9. YES. Many, many people looking for, um, women of easy virtue in Montréal. (Why Montréal? No idea.) Also, lots of people looking for gay porn. (To be fair, I do mention that from time to time.) Plus, still, HUNDREDS of hits a day from those looking for Italian footballers in their underwear (and not in their underwear).

  11. Over a thousand hits?! wow!

I’ve had a few odd search terms bringing folk to my place and I wouldn’t mind if it were legal and not sick and twisted but during the time when the Madeleine McCann case was huge I got some really sick people arriving at my blog.

For a while it made me feel seriously bad, I worried about what I was writing, but then I realised that it’s not a reflection on me, it’s simply some weirdos out there who, if I didn’t check my site stats, I would know nothing about.

Anyway, your blog is lovely and it’s just random words being put together in search results I think.

  12. Actually, I got a few hits for a dodgy search term a while ago, too. I think it’s pretty common…

  14. I quite often get people looking for ‘girls’ in Stratford … and I don’t think they’re looking for me(!) Think they’re probably disappointed when they get to my blog.

I think it’s really interesting to see what people are searching for.

  15. Hello! Loving the discussion that’s going on here.
Firstly, can I apologise for the excessive anti-spam measures. Truth is, I bloody hate this blogsome malarky and I’m moving to blogger as soon as I get back.
SUGAR - there are so many strange queries that lead people here, but the one that shocked me most was Haircut Fetish - daily!
MYA - thanks for the award! It is indeed beautiful and I feel honoured, you lovely lady! Ha, that was a great post about the trunks, I hope the sadomasochists enjoyed it :)
JOHN - you told me already how you found my blog!
VILAINE - I love your Italian footballers, they are indeed gorgeous.
TOM C - you’re missing out on nothing, don’t worry!
PRINCESSE - I remember the queries for that case, I was upset like you.
MAESTRO - I am surprised at you! You are a bastion of decency!
ELIZA - it’s the one good thing about this software I suppose, as I don’t have a decent stat counter yet.
SG - I find it interesting too! But yes, I think sometimes like you, I am what we would call a “false drop”!
