Glitter and be gay

I’ve got an audition on Friday. If I get the main part, I get to sing this.

Or I might do it more like this

How exciting is that?

  1. Ooooooooooh! I assume this is Bernstein’s Candide?! (I couldn’t follow the link on this stoopid computer…!)

How exciting would that be?! I love Bernstein!

    Good luck!

  2. Yes, that would be Candide!
I’ve heard that’s the one part they’re worrying about filling - I am almost wetting my pants with excitement!

  3. Can I ask you, actually, whether you think Quando m’en vo would be a decent audition piece for that? I don’t know Adele’s laughing song well enough to sing it without a sheet in 2 days’ time :(

  4. Yes, I don’t see why not. I guess it depends on your conductor, but personally, I’d be looking for bags of character in an audition for this role, more than a similar type-piece…

I’d say go with whatever you feel most confident with, but maybe that’s just me…!

  5. Well I think Musetta’s aria has character enough, I think it should make quite an impact. I need to show range /power / technique, obviously!

  9. Wow! You’re very talented if you can sing like that! If you also do the tortured facial expressions and the wobbly bottom lip thing I reckon the part is in the bag. But good luck anyway :)

  13. Ooo, was it your birthday?
    Happy Birthday.
And wow, you can sing like this??
I preferred the second version. It was much more compelling to watch.

    Break a leg hon.
